At least monthly updates I said: March

As mentioned before, and brought to my attention by A. Nonymous, I would update this blog at least monthly. Technically I have until the end of March for that, but since it has been 28 days since the last update...here we go.

February scked :) Was my first loosing month since...very long. Was not so bad though, since running bad was part of it and the losses were not very big (1K-ish). Cant remember having a month that was near 0EV. Must have been beginning of 08. I continued playing at Stars and at Eurolinx. However, I am thinking about just playing the minimum at Stars. For example when there are very few tables running at other sites, Stars is a good thing to be at. I find competition toughening there, even at limits at 400, 200 and even 100nl. At microgaming lots of the regulars are even very bad. Not all though, but the vast majority.

I have been working on my game to get a bit more agro when tables allow it. also I now limit myself to playing 9 or 10 tables. Just to get a better feel of the game. I think it is fine to play tight (17/15 - 15/13) on 24+ tables. However, when playing more agro (22/20) I find it more difficult to play that many tables. You keep looking for squeeze spots, light 3bets, weird lines, etc to make more money. Not undooable with a lot of tables, but harder. I did break my record for most hands in one day: 13K+. Still in total I didnt play that many hands.

Furthermore I have been playing a bit of Heads-up. With some gameselection it is easy to make some money there. I do not like it that much though. Few dynamics. Also a lot of ego trippers playing Heads-up cash. Many players just join my table, play a few hands and 1) quit or 2) hit and run. It is hard to put in longer sessions. When joining tables the weirdest things happen. Players sitting there with 100BB, playing 30 hands and loosing (for example) 20BB and go on sit out and ask me to leave. Like wtf. Get a life and leave yourself. You quit... Players then go on about it being their table and then berate my game. Come on. Obviously there are the tards sitting out til inifinity with 500bb stacks, just to preserve their stack.

Alright. Also have been playing Pot Limit Omaha. Swongs are huge there. That is normal since youre hand seldomly is a big favourite against any other hand. So more variance. But it is nice to play other games as a variation on No Limit Holdem. Occasionally I even play Limit Holdem. That is pretty funny, coming from no Limit. Usually it is the other way around.

On a personal note a lot of time is invested in my job and also moving into and decorating my new place makes sure hours are well spend at some interior design shop. A few days still for my new car to arrive and we are good to go.

I know some people have emailed me about coaching. I am sorry not to have mailed you back, but I am contemplating whether to continue the coaching thing. I really should invest more time in my own game, before coaching more people. I am happy to discuss some hands or even review short hand histories but to set up new coaching appointments is prolly not wise since I am so busy this month. Perhaps next month, if you are still interested. For March I would be happy to grind about 50K hands, which would be the lowest in probably one and a half years. We will see. Hope it will be better than February.
