Still Stars

Just another short update. So far my project on playing 100nl at Stars is paying off. 17 days played with only one loosing day ($150). That is pretty sick. I play really tight, but players somehow do not pick up on it or do not adapt to my playing style. I still get called allin with AQo, I still get 4bet bluffed, which is fine.

I am still wondering what to do with my FPP (Stars loyalty points). Wonder whether to buy in to live events, or just cash out. I rake about 3-5K points a day. However, it does not come close to rakeback deals offered at some sites. So I am not sure if I keep playing exclusively on Stars, as I have done the last month. Even though the rakeback is not top, the software and multitable opportunities are nothing short of great.

Something very much of interest to the European poker players is the Euro-Dollar exchange rate. As you may have noticed the Euro is dropping rappidly, which of course is good for the European player having an account in Dollars.

So in the last two months, per Dollar we got 16 euro cents more. That is just sick. Lets keep a close eyes on that exchange rate.

Furthermore the Pokernews strategy videos site has launched. It looked quite promissing. Think the quality of the cash videos is very high. RaSZi and Genius making the most interesting video's. I am not really into tournament video's, since I usually find those boring. So I will not judge the quality of those. I would have expected a bit more updates, but perhaps I am spoiled.

So I will continue playing at Stars for now.

Furthermore I have written a few articles for Pokernews. The latest was on how to play multiway (preflop) in No Limit Holdem. The majority of the strategy articles can be found on the pokernews.eu website. The next pokernews magazine article will be on how to tackle various player types.

Regards,

Edmé

Updataments

Hi few people who still keep checking this blog without finding any updates whatsoever. Sorry for that, again. I have been quite busy lately. I started a day job again. Now I work at a big consultancy agency in the Netherlands. Fortunately the first month its just training.

Good things are I also received a laptop (which supposedly increases your winrate. search the PN forum for more information on that), a SIM card (no phone) and I will get a lease car when being on the payroll for two months. Always fun to get a new car. So I am looking at a Seat Leon, Audi A3 or Honda Civic. Let me know if you have a good alternative (not an Alfa Romeo please).

Furthermore we are looking to buy a house which is one of the perks of having an actual job. Without a job: no mortgage.

Poker. Well, last couple of months were quite bad. Even though I managed to squeeze out a small profit every month, it was nothing like the first half of the year. So I decided to go back to 100nl. However, I play a bit differently. I now play at Stars, 6-max and multitable aoubt 20 tables. Result: Nit, with a high winrate. Playing like that I play about 2-5K hands a day (even though I hve the day job). So far I have played about 50K hands and am up a little over 30 buyins this month. Unfortunately I am down a few buyins on 200 and 400nl, which makes a little profit so far this month. I will stick to playing 100nl at least until the end of the month.

Playing so many tables creates quite big swings. Last weekend I played over 8K hands a day and went up to $200, down to -$750 and up again to +$150 in one day. Good thing it doesnt tilt me. At 100nl there are basically only a few solid regulars. And most of the play poorly at that. I wont name the good players, but you know who you are.

Whats more is that I want to get one milestone bonus at Stars before the end of the year. I still need about 60K VPP for that. Its going to be close to make that. I read the story about Pokerpoopy on 2+2. He made a bet to grind to Super Nova Elite status on Pokerstars before the end of the year. This means he needs to make an additional 600K VPP within about 70 days. He will stick to 200nl 6-max and will turn a profit within those two months. That is just one sick bet. He got some action on that bet. I hope he makes it. Note that he is down 18 buyins in three days.

I found another 2+2 thread that is very worth reading. On destroying 3-6NL.

This is it for now. Look out for my latest article on Pokernews: How to play it multiway. will be published next Sunday.
