Sup?!

"Yo, yo, yo. How are things?"

This is how someone started an MSN conversation. So its time to update the blog, although the two events are not necessarily related. Long time no updates. Last post was about tournaments. I did play a decent number of tournaments that Sunday, but to no avail. I had a break even night. Busted out of the big sunday tournaments and had top 50 runs in the $55 ones.

Unfortunately I am not going to the WSOP this summer. Did I mention that in an older blog? Not sure. However, the weekend of the main event Ive planned a weekend away to Cracow in Poland. When I planned that, I just forgot about the WSOP. However, next year I will be there. I will buy in directly or qualify. Got plenty of FPPs to participate.

Pokerwise it is ok-ish. Not really running that well one day and running fine the other. Standard hand: I bet, someone raises, I 4bet. Get a call. Flop KJ2 with me holding AK. I bet and get a call. Turn Ace. I bet and get raised allin. River bricks and villain shows QT. Same with plenty strange hands, like Q2o turning two pair, 78o flopping trips in a 4bet pot and so forth.

No real reason to complain though. used to be tight and setmining. Lately it is transformed to: "Hey, so not every 3bet is air"... Also looking a bit more at Omaha and sit and go's. Omaha is so swingy, but I find it fun to play. So many mistakes are made. On the other hand, there is not one single style that is "good". Like in 6-max NL Holdem, someone playing between 15/12 and 24/22 is fine. In Omaha a 10/10 and 40/28 can be fine.

I play the turbo sit and go's. Sick variance there as well. In the later levels of the 1-table sit and go's (depending on the stack sizes usually starting from 50/100 and 75/150), it is just a shove-fiesta. However, they are fun to play. Keep playing steps as well, but they are less fun. To many monkeys to make "normal" play possible. Stil got my step 6 ticket. Will try to qualify for an EPT. Maybe in Moscow or Barcelona. Should be fun to play there.

Besides playing myself I am also writing articles for PokerNews. Have written a lot lately. Still manage to come up with new topics. New writers are always welcome though (mail me if youre interested). Furthermore I am staking some players. Got stakes in 4 players going to the WSOP. I am also buying stakes at ChipMeUp. It is linked to PokerNews. Check out the site. Its fun if youve got some money to spare.

Thats it for now. See you next time!

Grindin...and Tournaments

Just been grinding 100 to 400nl this month. Not too bad, but not too good either. Going to play some tournaments on Sunday. Probably including step 6. I will post updates on my blog or through twitter.

Might skipp or add a few, depending on how it goes obviously. If youre Dutch you should enter the Bart Spijker Charity tournament.

April was ok

April was ok. I finished 3rd in a $33 tournament, which helped. It was a bit of a rollercoaster cash game wise. While running a bit under EV, managed over 12bb/100 for the first 20k hands, after which lady variance kicked in. Still quite happy with my play.

I still have a step 6 ticket, which will be played in May. However, I will not go to Vegas. I found I booked a weekend away just when the main event starts. Next year I will be there, buying in or qualifying...

Just some fun hands.

Progress and video

Happy with the way I am playing. That is probably the best description of my game during the first few days of April. I am not going to much into details, but as I said in my last post I play fewer tables, select good tables (over 400 people in the buddy list might help) and play decent. I actually enjoy playing more at the moment. More than in the last few months.

I have uploaded a video of me playing 4 tables 100nl. Please give feedback, ask questions or comment otherwise.

Skip the April 1st update

So lets update on 31 March.

Basically, I enjoy poker somewhat more that I did the last few months. Still the 1 and 2 outers are there, but I changed my game quite a bit. For one I stopped playing 20+ tables. Although it is perfectly manageable, it is also a bit mindnumbing. Now I play 9 or 10 tables and my winrate is definitely improving a lot. Hourly rate is a bit less, ut I am enjoying poker more, which is more important to me.

What did I change? More aggression, more play in position, more floating, more calling 3-bets light. Next to that there are a lot of regulars which I enjoy playing against. Not the bad ones, but the good ones. Feels good to own them from time to time. Okay, it is mostly 100 and 200nl, but I enjoy it more like this and still make a decent amount of $.

Was down about 30 buyins and ended 10 bi up. Also competing in Eurolinx Rakeraces and still playing at the good old Stars. Software at Microgaming tillts me, but is fine compared to Everest or iPoker imo. Software at Stars is just great. Every week new improvements and finetuning. Still love to play there.

I am looking forward to the WSOP qualifiers that are coming up on Stars. Still have one step 6 ticket left (which is basically useless if i do not qualify obviously, but still nice to have).

On the Pokerstars VIP program: Check out SPASSM on Pokernews this Sunday.

Bye for now!

Finally shipped a step 6 ticket. Wowzers.

Climbed all the way up from step 1. Decided to go playing them since I had about $300 W$ left. Still have $110 W$ left and now step 6. Prolly will wait for the wsop steps.

Dear Stars,

I did it. I deposited on another site and started playing there. However, I missed the Stars software, the people, the steps and obviously the Pokerstars mon(k)ey. Will you have me back? I will never leave you again! I promise.

Regards,

Edmé
